The Reach Foundation Endowment fund was established by a $1 million gift from Battelle to support the values embodied by the REACH Museum and to raise additional funds.
The Endowment fund generates interest from investing with Vanguard Investments. Currently, the endowment fund is valued at about $1.4 million. The objective of the fund is to preserve the “principle” amount invested while using the earnings from the fund to support the REACH Museum.
Up to 50% of those earnings is distributed quarterly to the Richland Public Facilities District to support education programs. The Endowment is considered to be a long-term revenue stream for the museum.
Funds that go directly to building up the Endowment, allowing the fund to continue growing, comes from these sources:
- Corporate Memberships
- Patron’s Pledges
- Contributions designated for the endowment by the donor
